About the album

Committeehorse is both a psychedelic romp and a meditative solo journey. In his debut studio album, multi-instrumentalist and producer Zach Kaas explores a unique sonic territory: the palette is both gritty and delicate, groovy and free, often set against a kaleidoscopic backdrop of dark and strange harmonies. The result is a synthy trip through various neighborhoods of art-rock with regular nods to electronic music, jazz, and theatre.

Set in an internal, surreal, "desert of the mind", it is an outpouring of doubt, despair, ecstasy, and determination. As one might expect from a collaborative musician finding themselves suddenly navigating uncharted waters as a solo artist, there is ambience of solipsism and loneliness.
